Independence of the judiciary from executive and legislative encroachment. Specifically captures court-packing, selective prosecution, judicial reshuffles.

On 1 May 2021, the first day of the newly seated Legislative Assembly — which Nuevas Ideas had won 56/84 in the Feb 28 2021 mid-term — the supermajority voted in a single session to remove the five magistrates of the Sala de lo Constitucional of the Supreme Court (Carlos Sánchez, Aldo Cáder, Marina Marenco, Carlos Avilés, Óscar Pineda) and the Attorney General Raúl Melara, installing replacement appointees aligned with the executive. The procedural grounds invoked (Article 186 of the Constitution) are contested by OAS, European Union, and US State Department statements as violating the two-thirds supermajority and substantive-cause requirements. The replacement Constitutional Chamber issued the 3 Sep 2021 Sentencia 1-2021 authorising presidential re-election despite Articles 152 and 248 bans (see sv_sentencia_reeleccion_2021).

Explicit links are curated by the author. Inferred links are hypotheses in the library that test the same axes this policy moved — the framework's answer to "what does the data say about a policy like this?".
Ranked by axis-fingerprint overlap with this policy. Direction match bolded — those are the closest historical analogues. Shape of the match is what drives policy-outcome comparison, not the country or party label.
